Do You Commit To Sobriety?

I wish I had read this a long time ago. I have read it over and over again; each time it reminds me of how important my sobriety is and how my commitment to sobriety means everything. I thought I would share this with you:

“What you commit yourself to be will change what you are and make you into a completely different person. Let me repeat that. Not the past but the future conditions you, because what you commit yourself to become determines what you are – more than anything that ever happened to you yesterday or the day before. Therefore I ask you a very simple question: What are your commitments? Where are you going? What are you going to be? You show me somebody who hasn’t decided, and I’ll show you somebody who has no identity, no personality, no direction.”
